some historical notes
“Acquaforte” is the first indirect hollow technique and it is the most widely used as a
means of exspession by both past and modern artists.
The origins of “Acquaforte” date back to the Middle Ages a period in which nitric acid ( the Latin name acqua-fortis) was used to engrave friezes and patterns onto weapons and armour.
LeChianche uses “Acquaforte” on stone creating bas-relief and elegant effects and expressing creativity and artisanship giving rise to completely original, precious shapes.
